Horacio Hit in the Head

The Atlanta Braves SP Horacio Ramirez was hit in the forehead by a Lance Berkman in the second inning of yesterday's game. Ramirez left the game after sustaining the injury. Before leaving the game, Ramirez gave up seven runs, six of which were earned, in 1 2/3 innings. Fortunately, Ramirez walked off the field on his own. Ramirez is day-to-day.

There was no blood on the towel when the trainer was rubbing Ramirez's head and he seemed fine after the blow. Atlanta reported it was a contusion to the side of his head. Lance Berkman showed genuine concern after hitting Ramirez. Chipper Jones actually started to run over to Ramirez during the play, which led to a bad throw by Francoeur to third base and allowed a run to score.
