Horace Gillom (Horace A. Gillom) was born on March 3, 1921 in Roanoke, Alabama. After going to high school at Massillon (OH), Gillom attended Ohio State University and the University of Nevada-Reno. Gillom made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1947 with the Cleveland Browns. He played in the AAFC for 3 years, playing for the Cleveland Browns the entire time. Gillom also played in the NFL for 7 years, playing for the Cleveland Browns the entire time.

Most people believe that 1949 was Horace Gillom's best year.
