Hope Arrives in Memphis in the Form of Darko Milicic

Darko Milicic, welcome to the great state of Tennnessee! The athletic center, who should be able to run the floor nicely with Pau Gasol and Mike Miller, joins fellow newcomer Mike Conley Jr. in Memphis, brining both hope and promise with him.

With Memphis being, well, THE WORST TEAM IN THE NBA, this is a big deal. First, we'll probably stink up the joint, and with our bad luck this year with the lottery balls, we should get good luck next year. (I know that doesn't make sense, but now I have hope!!) And as Darko and Pau figure out how to play together, and with Conley maturing, we're going to gel just at the right time.

Too bad we're in the West.

It just cracks me up that Darko UPS his career average to somewhere in the ballpark of 12 ppg in a 4-game sweep against the Pistons (this after he averaged less than 9 ppg in the regular season) and suddenly he becomes a hot commodity. What the hell is wrong with the world?

Wow...it's really strange for me to see "hope" and "Darko" in the same sentence without it being something along the lines of "hope he doesn't turn out to be the biggest draft bust in NBA history."
