Hoot Flanagan (William Harold Flanagan) was born on April 27, 1901 in Buckhannon, West Virginia. Flanagan attended the University of Pittsburgh and West Virginia Wesleyan College. Flanagan made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the Pottsville Maroons. He played for the Pottsville Maroons for his entire 2 year career.
