[edit] Biography

Born on September 22, 1889 in Indianapolis, Indiana, Hooks Dauss (George August Dauss) played for the Detroit Tigers for his entire 15 year career. Dauss broke into the bigs on September 28, 1912 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 2.48 ERA in 225 innings pitched in 1913, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Hooks Dauss's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1915, when he posted a 2.50 ERA, won 24 games and struck out 132 batters. However, others believe that it was 1914, when he posted a 2.86 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 150 batters.
