Evidently Dave Wannstedt wanted to thank the Pitt A.D. for his contract extension in a manner that he would never forget.
Wannstedt's Panthers pulled off one of the most remarkable upsets in college football history Saturday night by defeating the #2 Mountaineers of West Virginia to once again send the BCS into disarray just one day before final bowl selection.
Anyone want to venture some BCS guesses? Ohio State vs. Virginia Tech or LSU seems most likely. Being that LSU has been in the top spot twice already, in my opinion Virginia Tech will probably advance. Georgia is currently ranked #4 in the BCS, but Virginia Tech's victory over Boston College in the ACC Championship game should be enough to bump them above the Bulldogs.

Jason O hits it on the head when he said that the BCS has been sent into disarry. Another number 2 team bites the dust, which makes being second bannana about as safe as picking your teeth with a steak knife. Whoever the new number 2 is next week will have some big shoes to fill. Sagarin had West Virginia at the top. Hope he like omlettes, he's got egg on his face. I think the new number two should be Virginia Tech, who avenged themselves against Boston College, who beat the Hokies in Blacksburg a few weeks ago. I don't see LSU moving to number two, after they lost at home to Arkansas the Friday after Thanksgiving, plus they played catch up against Tennesee in Atlanta this afternoon. Hopefully, the voters, AP and the BCS computer will be kind to them.
