Born on September 23, 1898 in Clarksville, Tennessee, Hod Lisenbee (Horace Milton Lisenbee) played for the Washington Senators, Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Athletics and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 8 year career. Lisenbee broke into the bigs on April 23, 1927 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 3.57 ERA in 242 innings pitched in 1927, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Hod Lisenbee's best season was 1927, when he posted a 3.57 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 105 batters.
