Hobie Landrith (Hobart Neal Landrith) was born on March 16, 1930 in Decatur, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on July 30, 1950 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1953, his rookie year, he hit .240 with 3 home runs and 16 RBI. Landrith played for the Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles and Washington Senators over the course of his 14 year career.
