Ho Hum! A Return to the Norm as the Jets Fall Again

Any Jets fan that was dreaming of a week that included two upsets, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys came away disappointed as they fell big time today, 34-3, giving the Cowboys theif first 10-1 start ever.

The romp started right from the opening drive, where the Cowboys methodically marched down the field culminating in a 7 yard TD run by Marion Barber putting Dallas ahead 7-0, and they never looked back.

They pulled ahead in the second quarter when Tony Romo threw a 25 yard scoring pass to Jason Witten to move ahead 14-0, and 6 minutes later, when Terrance Newman jumped a Kellen Clemens out route intended for Jerricho Cotchery and midfield and took it down the sideline to the house to make the score 21-0. Two field goals by Nick Folk and a fourth quarter TD pass from Romo to Owens later you had your 34-3 romp. A late second quarter Mike Nugent field goal prevented the shutout.

Romo had an efficicent afternoon, going 21-28 for 195 yards, 2 TD and an early insignificant interception. The two headed running game of Marion Barber and Julius Jones were quite effective, Barber rushing 18 times for 103 yards and a TD, Jones carried 14 times for 64 yards.

Brother Thomas Jones didn't have so much luck, not being able to get untracked all day, rushing 17 times for a mere 40 yards.

Terrell Owens led the receiving corp for Dallas with 6 catches for 65 yards and a score, and Witten caught 4 passes for 54 yards and a score.

Kellen Clemens played another average game, going 12-27 for 142 yards and one INT. Chris Baker was the only Jet to catch more than 2 passes, catching 3 for 36 yards.

Next up for the Jets a week from Sunday against the meager Miami Dolphins.

This game didn't hurt much compared to the Kelly Clarkson halftime show that acted as a horrible soundtrack to the Thanksgiving table.
