Ricky "The Hitman" Hattton announced this week that he has the style to deliver PBF his first loss. Looking back on tape of PBF's controversial unanimous decision over Castillo, Hatton seems to think he found PBF's weakness. Hatton feels that PBF gets flustered under pressure. Castillo at his best fought very similar to Hatton. Castillo would stand in there and exchange and work the body with some serious authority. In his fight aginst PBF this worked and worked well. This had many in the boxing community thinking the fight was a draw.
Hatton will have to be at his best against PBF. I think that PBF has improved a lot since his fight with Castillo. PBF jumped up to 15o pounds in his fight against De La Hoya and didn't lose a step. He is as fast as he has every been. I personally thought the De La Hoya fight was much closer than the judges scored it. With that in mind, the difference was PBF's ability to counter punch. This really took De La Hoya out of his game plan. Hatton is a much different fighter. Hatton likes to bring the pressure and throws every punch with the same intensity. The difference in this fight will be Hatton's ability to stay on the inside and neutralize PBF's speed.
Hatton works as hard as any other fighter in the world if not harder. He will bring his A game on December 8, 2007 and only time will tell if that is enough to ascend to the top of the pound for pound rankings. This is the last significant fight of the year and It will lead us into an exciting 2008.
Who do you guys like in the fight and why?
