Born on March 18, 1916 in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Hi Bithorn (Hiram Gabriel (Sosa) Bithorn) played for the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 4 year career. Bithorn broke into the bigs on April 15, 1942 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 3.68 ERA in 171.1 innings pitched in 1942, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Hi Bithorn's best season was 1943, when he posted a 2.60 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 86 batters.
