Hey Mets fans! Mark Loretta might be your savior?!

MLB.com is reporting that the Mets are interested in Mark Loretta if their crackerjack 2nd base corps of Ruben Gotay, Damion Easley, Marlon Anderson and Anderson Hernandez can't do the job. Is this what the '07 trade deadline is producing? The Mets might also be looking at KC's Mark Grudzielanek or Pittsburgh's Jose Castillo. heh heh heh. That's hysterical. You Mets fans must be crying in your beer. May the spirit of Terry Mulholland help us! Don't know who I'm talking about? Google him and check out how often he was dealt. He always seemed to be a guy that teams needed to fill out their bullpen or for a spot start. Man, I wish I threw lefthanded. www.highandinside.net

We are not crying that hard, seeing we have been in first place for three months.

I'm not all that concerned. Gotay has been getting the job done as of late. If we are going to trade for anything it should be middle relief. Scott "gopher balls" Schoenweis and Aaron Sele have not been getting the job done.

Never understood why Loretta signed with Astros since he has been a fill in there when he should be playing everyday. Loretta is a .299 lifetime hitter and his lowest average in 13 years is .260. He will not hit a lot of home runs and only hit homers in double figures twice but is a solid player and will help the Mets or Phillies if one of them acquires him.
