Hewritt Dixon (Hewritt Frederick Dixon, Jr.) was born on January 8, 1940 in Lacross, Florida. After going to high school at A.L. Mebane (Alachua, FL), Dixon attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Dixon made his professional debut in the AFL in 1963 with the Denver Broncos. He played in the AFL for 7 years, playing for the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos over the course of his 7 year AFL career.Dixon also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Oakland Raiders the entire time.

Most people believe that 1967 was Hewritt Dixon's best year, as he ran for 559 yards, ran in 5 TDs, hauled in 59 receptions and had 563 receiving yards.
