Herman Pillette

Born on December 26, 1896 in St. Paul, Oregon, Herman Pillette (Herman Polycarp Pillette) played for the Cincinnati Reds and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 4 year career. Pillette broke into the bigs on July 30, 1917 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 2.85 ERA in 274.2 innings pitched in 1922, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Herman Pillette's best season was 1922, when he posted a 2.85 ERA, won 19 games and struck out 71 batters.
