Herman Franks (Herman Louis Franks) was born on January 4, 1914 in Price, Utah. He made his Major League debut on April 27, 1939 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1940, his rookie year, he hit .183 with 1 home run and 14 RBI. Franks played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Brooklyn Dodgers, Philadelphia Athletics and New York Giants over the course of his 6 year career.
