Herm Young (Herman DeVerne Young) was born on March 21, 1906 in Flint, Michigan. After going to high school at Flint (MI), Young attended the University of Detroit Mercy. Young made his professional debut in the NFL in 1930 with the Providence Steam Roller. He played for the Providence Steam Roller for his entire 1 year career.
