Herm Winningham (Herman Son Winningham) was born on December 1, 1961 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He made his Major League debut on September 1, 1984 for the New York Mets. In 1985, his rookie year, he hit .237 with 3 home runs and 21 RBI. Winningham played for the New York Mets, Montreal Expos, Cincinnati Reds and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Herm Winningham's best season was 1987, when he stole 29 bases.
