Bruce Alford (Herbert Bruce Alford) was born on September 12, 1922 in Waco, Texas. After going to high school at Waco (TX), Alford attended Texas Christian University. Alford made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1946 with the New York Yankees. He played in the AAFC for 4 years, playing for the New York Yankees the entire time. Alford also played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the New York Yanks the entire time.
Most people believe that 1947 was Bruce Alford's best year, as he caught 5 TD passes, ran back a punt for a touchdown and ran back a kickoff for a touchdown.
