Herb Sies (Dale Herbert Sies) was born on January 2, 1893 in Ames, Iowa. After going to high school at Davenport (IA), Sies attended the University of Pittsburgh. Sies made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Cleveland Tigers. He played in the APFA for 2 years, playing for the Dayton Triangles and Cleveland Tigers over the course of his 2 year APFA career.Sies also played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Dayton Triangles and Rock Island Independents over the course of his 3 year NFL career.
