Born on August 6, 1928 in Brooksville, Kentucky, Herb Moford (Herbert Moford) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox and New York Mets over the course of his 4 year career. Moford broke into the bigs on April 12, 1955 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.61 ERA in 109.2 innings pitched in 1958, his rookie year.
