Henry Obst (Henry D. Obst) was born on December 23, 1906. After going to high school at Textile (New York, NY), Obst attended Syracuse University. Obst made his professional debut in the NFL in 1931 with the Staten Island Stapletons. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Staten Island Stapletons over the course of his 2 year career.
