Henry Burris (Henry Armand Burris) was born on June 4, 1975 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. After going to high school at Spiro (OK), Burris attended Temple University. Burris made his professional debut in the NFL in 2002 with the Chicago Bears. He played for the Chicago Bears for his entire 1 year career.

Signed as a free agent with Calgary on February 25, 2005.

2005

Dressed for 16 regular season games...was named to Western All-Star team and was named the Stampeder nominee for Most Outstanding Player...finished the season completing 265 of 435 passes (60.9%) for 4,290 yards, 23 touchdowns and 12 interceptions...he also recorded 82 carries for 513 yards (6.3 average per carry) and nine touchdowns...Burris suffered a thumb injury during week 11 vs the Edmonton Eskimos…he would not dress for the following two games...in week 14 Henry would dress as an emergency quarterback however he did not see any playing time...in week 15 he would return to the field leading the Stampeders to four straight victories to finish up the regular season…he would throw for over 300 yards seven times in regular season action and one game over 400 yards...in the last eight games Henry would throw for 13 touchdowns and only two interceptions...in the last four games he threw for nine touchdowns and no interceptions.

2004

Henry finished the season completing 322 of 544 passes for 4,267 yards and 23 touchdown passes...he rushed the ball 84 times for 464 yards and 7 touchdowns and recorded four games with over 350 yards passing...he led his team to a near Grey Cup appearance, coming up just short against the B.C. Lions in overtime 27-25...may have had his best game of the season in the Western Division Final where he completed 28 of 39 passes (71.8 completion percentage) for 416 yards, 0 interceptions and 3 touchdowns...in the previous week he led the Roughriders to a victory over the Edmonton Eskimos in the Western Division Semi-Final (14-6)...started off the season with a strong performance against the B.C. Lions on July 2...completed 26 of 36 passes for 358 yards and 4 touchdowns, he also ran the ball three times, one for a touchdown...later that month on July 31st, Henry threw for over 350 yards again, this time against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats...he completed 20 of 34 passes for 358 yards and 2 touchdowns...in the following game against the Montreal Alouettes on August 5th, Henry completed 26 of 38 passes for 385 yards and 2 touchdowns...in his last game of the regular season Henry once again threw for over 350 yards and completed 22 of 40 passes for 352 yards and 2 touchdowns.

2003

Dressed in 10 regular season games as backup quarterback...also dressed for West Semifinal and West Championship...entered game in second half of week 11...completed 11 of 22 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown...finished the season completing 11 of 24 passes for 130 yards and one touchdown...also spent season with NFL Europe’s Berlin Thunder completing 55 of 99 passes for 589 yards and five touchdowns...also rushed seven times for 59 yards and two touchdowns...missed the remainder of season with a knee injury.

2002

Dressed in six games for the Chicago Bears...made his first NFL start in week 16...completed 18 of 51 passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns during the season...also rushed 15 times for 104 yards.

2001

Spent first season with the Green Bay Packers...named to Packers active roster at the close of training camp...spent the first 11 games of the regular season as the team’s third QB before being placed on the practice squad for the final five games.

2000

Dressed for 18 games with the Saskatchewan Roughriders...made Riders debut in week 1...started at quarterback in weeks 1 thru 16...had five touchdown passes in week 4...completed 27 of 50 passes for 458 yards and two touchdowns in week 6...week 13 completed 26 of 41 passes for 409 yards and two touchdowns...named Roughrider nominee as Most Outstanding Player...finished the season completing 308 of 576 passes for 4,647 yards and 30 touchdowns...also ran for 188 yards and eight touchdowns.

1999

Dressed for five games with the Calgary Stampeders...saw action in three games, starting two of them.finished the season completing 36 of 60 passes for 529 yards and four touchdowns...ran for 81 yards on 13 carries...came off the bench in week three to engineer come from behind victory against Edmonton...went 11 of 20 for 188 yards and two touchdowns...threw first CFL touchdown pass (63 yards) to Allen Pitts...started week four against the Alouettes in Montreal and recorded another Stampeder victory 38-17...Henry went 19 of 28 for 269 yards and two touchdowns and ran the ball for 45 yards on six carries...also started week 5 against the B.C. Lions...went six of 12 for 72 yards...added 32 yards rushing before leaving the game in the third quarter with a torn ACL...spent remainder of season on the nine game injured list.

1998

Was in uniform for all 18 games with the Stampeders...also on Grey Cup winning roster...saw limited regular season action...was five of 11 for 83 yards...also rushed twice for four yards...completed first CFL pass in week six against Saskatchewan with a 26 yarder to Andre Arlain.

1997

Joined the Stampeders spending the majority of the season on the practice roster...dressed for one game.

College

Had four year career at Temple University...following career, held 20 Temple passing records...set Big East Conference records for pass completions (558) and career passing attempts (1,136)...was second all-time in Big East in passing yards (7,495)...also tied for top spot with 49 passing touchdowns and 12 rushing majors...in senior season was co-captain of Temple Owls..passed for 2,084 yards and 12 touchdowns...was 142 of 280...had five games of over 200 yards passing...set school record with 445 passing yards against Pittsburgh...named Big East Conference Player of the week twice...in 1995 was on roster for 11 games...started 10 games and completed 139 of 300 pass attempts for 2,004 yards and 11 touchdowns...added four rushing touchdowns ..started 11 games as a sophomore in 1994 ..set eight Owl passing records...tossed 409 balls completing 215 for 2,716 yards and 21 touchdown passes...earned second team All-Big East Conference honors...took Temple from last in Big East passing in 1993 for first in 1994...saw action in 10 games as a true freshman in 1993...started four games...completed 62 of 149 passes and five touchdowns.
