Helton to Leave Hospital Soon

Colorado Rockies superstar 1B Todd Helton should be released from the hospital today, hopefully with a diagnosis of the severe abdominal pain Helton has experienced of the past couple of days. Rockies GM Dan O'Dowd stated that: "We should have a much better idea after a couple of days."

Helton entered the Rose Medical Center on Friday, complaining of intense stomach cramping and a high fever. Doctors believe the illness might be the result of of Crohn's disease, a chronic disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive or gastrointestinal tract. Doctors have also investigation whether the illness resulted from kidney stones and intestinal infections. However, according to Rockies trainer Keith Dugger, nothing has been ruled out.
