Hello!! Is anybody out there?

A couple of months ago when I joined this site, I added to the wiki in the morning, and by 5:00 BST, about midday EST, the site was a frenzy of discussion.

Yet now it's 6:30 BST, and there's not been a comment on anything for ages! I've noticed this over the last few days. There is also less material being produced to talk about.

Are the people that used to use this site at work now being caught out by bosses? Or are people so busy they have no time? Is it simply the US Summer Holidays for work, so everyone is off and not using their computers? Or is it just a slow week?

I wonder how many people are using this site now... Feel free to comment, I can wait.

I don't think there has been less posting than usual. I've been editing like crazy and am still only #18 on the recent top user list.

well, personally i go in spurts. i might not logon for a few days and then one night i'll make a bunch of comments.

Perhaps that's why. I always have to go at about 8 o'clock (I have to turn it off to cool my room down, it's about 90-100 degrees here), so I miss out on the evening's discussion.

much to everyone's chagrin, I've been trying to cut down on the number of my comments... and have lost 3 articles in the past 5 days, so I'm a little frustrated by that...but I still read/peruse all the articles

see, I'm a flow writer - just write and post, I never would save on Word first...I went to post articles and either a) twice accidentally hit a link taking me away from the page, losing the article I had crafted, 2) tried to wikify part of the title; apparently that's a no-no that won't let you go back

I think it's simply because they're not much going on. That's why when something does happen there's two or three articles about the same thing.

Yeah, I seemed to "start the rot". There were a lot of articles about ten minutes before I started writing (it took me that long to write it, so I didn't notice them appearing).

i just think there is more lack of material than ever before. i've tried to become more of an editer as well. i still write my thursday column and i post random videos off of youtube every once in a while

i agree with you all...i mean theres only so many times you can write the same thing about the same people over and over again. We all know Soriano is on the trading block; we all know a-rod had a bad week and he is overpaid. When he have to resort to writing breaking news when a third string center is signed by some random NBA team, you know there's nothing going on!

I work some very long & strange hours... most of the time I'm here, I'm doing "background" work on the MLB minors and that's virtually everyday anywhere from 2 - 6hrs... so use this site - yeah I do! lol

Alex, I think it's just a summer slowdown. Not much going on in sports, and I bet a lot of us are just feeling lazy. But I agree that it has been much slower. I know I have slowed down recently but it's due to being quite busy at work.

I'll sign up for the roll call, but real life sometimes takes this sports fan away from the games. I think that's one of the benefits of this site - I know there is always someone out there posting and commenting - even if I don't have time.
