Heinie Peitz (Henry Clement Peitz) was born on November 28, 1870 in St. Louis, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on October 15, 1892 for the St. Louis Perfectos. In 1893, his rookie year, he hit .254 with 1 home run and 45 RBI. Peitz played for the St. Louis Perfectos, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 16 year career.

Most people believe that Heinie Peitz's best season was 1902, when he hit for a .315 average and knocked in 60 runs.
