Heinie Kappel (Henry Kappel) was born on September, 1863 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on May 22, 1887 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1888, his rookie year, he hit .259 with 1 home run and 15 RBI. Kappel played for the Cincinnati Reds and Columbus Colts over the course of his 3 year career.
