Hector Torres (Hector Epitacio (Marroquin) Torres) was born on September 16, 1945 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon (Mexico). He made his Major League debut on April 10, 1968 for the Houston Astros. In 1968, his rookie year, he hit .223 with 1 home run and 24 RBI. Torres played for the Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs, Montreal Expos, San Diego Padres and Toronto Blue Jays over the course of his 9 year career.
