Heath Shuler became one of the biggest NFL Draft busts of all time when he was taken out of the University of Tennessee by the Washington Redskins in 1994.

Shuler was considered a "can't miss" pick after his sensational career with the Volunteers, during which he was a runner-up to Charlie Ward for the Heisman Trophy in his senior year. He shattered nearly all of Tennessee's passing records, most of which have since been broken by Peyton Manning.

He spent three seasons with the Redskins, never living up to expectations. He was released in 1996 and subsequently signed with the New Orleans Saints, where he suffered a foot injury that forced him to retire when he later reinjured it.

Shuler is currently attempting a comeback to Washington, this time as a Democratic candidate for Congress in his home state of North Carolina.

Most people believe that 1994 was Heath Shuler's best year, as he tossed 10 TDs.
