Heat Roster Quickie

After sub-par play from Antoine Walker, and a combined 15.9 ppg from Udonis Haslem and James Posey, the Heat need to consider the possibility of playing small forward Dorell Wright and power forward Wayne Simien next season. Both are young forwards with immense potential. Wright has been described as freakishly athletic-even more athletic than Dwyane Wade. Simien was a talented college star for the Kansas Jayhawks. Both are former first round picks for the Heat, forced to sit on the bench in favor of the aforementioned Haslem and Walker. Dirk Nowitzki revealed the weaknesses of the Heat in the first two games of the series, and had the Miami Heat played Dorell Wright and double teamed Dirk, the outcome of the first two games may have been different.

Any thoughts?

Wow. The Heat won the NBA title less than 24 hours ago, and you are worrying about 2007 already? Enjoy the championship today, worry about next season starting tomorrow. These titles do not come along very often. Take it from a Philadelphia sports fan.

It is true though. Like the Lakers, the Heat cant just rely on their star power. Posey, Walker, and Williams have to make a name for themselves like Fox, Horry, and Fisher did. They have to develop a team.

Were people surprised that Posey and Haslem only combined for 15.9 points per game? I don't get it. They're not known for their offense.

Well, the Heat put a lot of stock into those players, and I would like two of my starting five to be able to average more than 15 ppg between the two of them. Im just saying that we should give Simien and Wright a shot.

James Posey and Udonis Haslem were tremondous role players for the Miami Heat. James Posey D and Udonis Haslem's weakside rebounding were crucial for the Heat's success. It's not about scoring all the time, sometimes it's goes beyond the stats. Having said that, Wayne Simien and Donell Wright should get a chance to develop on the court while they are still young so that the Heat can determine how they play in key situations on the court. If there's any spot for these two to take in the future, it's Walker's.

WOWWWWWW hold up one second.

Besides Dwyane Wade, I thought that Haslem and Posey were the most important pieces to the Miami Heat puzzle in the Finals.

Haslem totally shut down Dirk, who by the way, was said to be the best player in the Finals by every analyst before the series began. Haslem also added 17, yes 17 points in Game 6.

And no one played defense like James Posey. Posey came in and covered Dirk when Haslem was in foul trouble, was a factor on defense on every single play taking multiple charges and throwing off the Mavs shots, and he added a big threat from 3-point land. Let's also not forget that he is one of the few players on the team that shoots the free throw well.

Leave my University of Florida Udonis Haslem alone, and stay off the Pose (Pocket Full of Posey)
