Heat Check: Cardinals v Royals

If the Cardinals can beat the Royals this weekend, they will end their awful run in interleague play on a modest high note. However, if they don't dominate the lowly Royals, I'm prepared to say that the Cards will have to do something miraculous to do anything of import this season. Winning the Central shouldn't be tough since it's so craptastic. But the beatings we suffered at the hands of the AL elite teams are disturbing. The Royals aren't elite. So if we lose to them after sweeping them earlier this year, this thing is worse than I thought. Fingers crossed!
