[edit] Summary
The Heartland Trophy is a brass bull that is presented to the winner of the Iowa-Wisconsin football game. The trophy is new to the rivalry, as it was first presented in 2004 to Iowa, which won the game 30-7. The game in 2005 was the last home game for Wisconsin head coach Barry Alvarez. In a rain-soaked Camp Randall Stadium, Iowa spoiled the occasion, winning 20-10 after trailing 10-0 at the end of the first quarter. The Badgers took possession of the trophy for the first time in 2006, after defeating Iowa 24-21.
The next meeting between the two schools will take place on September 22, 2007, in Madison.
