Born on September 18, 1925 in Medway, Ohio, Harvey Haddix (Harvey Haddix) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 14 year career. Haddix broke into the bigs on August 20, 1952 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.06 ERA in 253 innings pitched in 1953, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Harvey Haddix's best season was 1953, when he posted a 3.06 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 163 batters.
