Born on September 6, 1922 in Dante, Virginia, Harry Perkowski (Harry Walter Perkowski) played for the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 8 year career. Perkowski broke into the bigs on September 13, 1947 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 2.82 ERA in 102 innings pitched in 1951, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Harry Perkowski's best season was 1952, when he posted a 3.80 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 86 batters.
