Born on April 24, 1895 in Hackensack, New Jersey, Harry Harper (Harry Clayton Harper) played for the Washington Senators, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and Brooklyn Robins over the course of his 10 year career. Harper broke into the bigs on June 27, 1913 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 3.47 ERA in 57 innings pitched in 1914, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Harry Harper's best season was 1916, when he posted a 2.45 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 149 batters.
