Harry Dowda (Harry Clinton Dowda) was born on December 29, 1922 in Atlanta, Georgia. After going to high school at Fulton (Atlanta, GA) and Hickory (NC), Dowda attended Wake Forest University. Dowda made his professional debut in the NFL in 1949 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles over the course of his 7 year career.
Most people believe that 1949 was Harry Dowda's best year, as he picked off 3 passes.
