Born on October 14, 1914 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Harry Brecheen (Harry David Brecheen) played for the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 12 year career. Brecheen broke into the bigs on April 22, 1940 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 2.26 ERA in 135.1 innings pitched in 1943, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Harry Brecheen's best season was 1948, when he posted a 2.24 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 149 batters.
