Harold Akin (Harold Dwayne Akin) was born on January 11, 1945 in McAlester, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Putnam City (Oklahoma City, OK), Akin attended Oklahoma State University. Akin made his professional debut in the AFL in 1967 with the San Diego Chargers. He played for the San Diego Chargers for his entire 2 year career.
