Harlond Clift (Harlond Benton Clift) was born on August 12, 1912 in El Reno, Oklahoma. He made his Major League debut on April 17, 1934 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1934, his rookie year, he hit .260 with 14 home runs and 56 RBI. Clift played for the St. Louis Browns and Washington Senators over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that Harlond Clift's best season was 1938, when he slugged 34 home runs, hit for a .290 average and knocked in 118 runs.
