Hap Moran (Francis Dayle Moran) was born on July 31, 1901 in Belleplaine, Iowa. After going to high school at Boone (IA), Moran attended Carnegie Mellon Univeristy and Grinnell College. Moran made his professional debut in the NFL in 1926 with the Frankford Yellow Jackets. He played for the New York Giants, Frankford Yellow Jackets and Pottsville Maroons over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that 1932 was Hap Moran's best year.
