Hans Lobert (John Bernard Lobert) was born on October 18, 1881 in Wilmington, Delaware. He made his Major League debut on September 21, 1903 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1906, his rookie year, he hit .310 with 0 home runs and 19 RBI. Lobert played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies and New York Giants over the course of his 14 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Hans Lobert's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1913, when he stole 41 bases, hit for a .300 average and knocked in 55 runs. However, others believe that it was 1908, when he stole 47 bases, hit for a .293 average and knocked in 63 runs.
