Hanley Frias (Hanley (Acevedo) Frias) was born on December 5, 1973 in Villa Altagracia, San Cristobal (Dominican Republic). He made his Major League debut on June 21, 1997 for the Texas Rangers. In 1999, his rookie year, he hit .273 with 1 home run and 16 RBI. Frias played for the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks over the course of his 4 year career.
