Born on March 1, 1918 in Lunsford, Arkansas, Hank Wyse (Henry Washington Wyse) played for the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Athletics and Washington Senators over the course of his 8 year career. Wyse broke into the bigs on September 7, 1942 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 2.94 ERA in 156 innings pitched in 1943, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Hank Wyse's best season was 1945, when he posted a 2.68 ERA, won 22 games and struck out 77 batters.
