Hank Thormahlen

Born on July 5, 1896 in Jersey City, New Jersey, Hank Thormahlen (Herbert Ehler Thormahlen) played for the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Brooklyn Robins over the course of his 6 year career. Thormahlen broke into the bigs on September 29, 1917 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 2.48 ERA in 112.2 innings pitched in 1918, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Hank Thormahlen's best season was 1919, when he posted a 2.62 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 62 batters.
