Hank Gowdy (Henry Morgan Gowdy) was born on August 24, 1889 in Columbus, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on September 13, 1910 for the New York Giants. In 1914, his rookie year, he hit .243 with 3 home runs and 46 RBI. Gowdy played for the New York Giants, Boston Rustlers and Boston Braves over the course of his 17 year career.
