[edit] Biography

Born on January 14, 1911 in Niagara Falls, New York, Hank Gornicki (Henry Frank Gornicki) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 4 year career. Gornicki broke into the bigs on April 17, 1941 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 2.57 ERA in 112 innings pitched in 1942, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Hank Gornicki's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1943, when he posted a 3.98 ERA and struck out 63 batters. However, others believe that it was 1942, when he posted a 2.57 ERA.
