Hall of Fame Snubs…Who’s on Your Ballot?

On the heels of Major League Baseball inducting their 2007 class into Cooperstown this past weekend it’s a time of reflection. Receiving this glorious honor is the pinnacle of ones blood, sweat, and tears he may have shed throughout a longevity career. Being recognized for what you brought to the game on a daily basis, as truly one of the games best, is truly a lifelong accomplishment!
Many have passed through the doors at Cooperstown…As fans, as players, and as fellow Hall of Famers, all witnessing baseball’s greatest…Baseball at it’s very best! Unfortunately while Cooperstown is a collection of baseball legends and legendary momentos that the game has seen over the years…It’s not for everybody. And annually when the induction class is announced, sharing the headlines right along side who got it…Is who didn’t get in. Quite frankly, the snubs seem to make more headlines than the inductees. Likely do to the fact that we know that the players elected to the Hall are well deserved anyway. As so are the snubs…It’s just someone found out their spouse was having an affair with the UPS guy. So many questions are raised…And ludicrous answers are given as to why they’re not Hall material. They bust their ass all throughout their playing career only to be named an usher at the wedding.
While the accumulation that the Hall has in it is unprecedented, the snubs over the years can be labeled as such too. If one was making a Hall of Fame snub fantasy team lineup, well, the following one would be pretty damn good…

- 1B - Mark McGwire* (Decide for yourself…I needed to fill out the lineup card!)

- 3B - Ron Santo

Okay, so these Hall of Fame snubs go without saying…I think we all know they all, (or most…Considering the views individuals have about the guy at first base & second base) deserve to be in Cooperstown. So why aren’t they? Why do we love football so much? Why did the ball & chain cheat on you with the UPS dude? It’s just like Nancy Kerrigan bellowed… "Why….Why……….Why?" Who knows?
Although this list of names is unprecedented and what each individual has given to the game of baseball speaks for itself…There are definitely more names feeling left out of the Hall of Fame party as well! These are "Name in Lights" quality! One won’t find a better collection than this…Guaranteed! Cooperstown is definitely doing an injustice by not having these names as part of the hall as well!
