Hall of Fame.......or not? (NFL part 2)

Time for the defense, and special teams in this part 2 of 2 series.  These are the active defenders who I think will make the hall of fame.

Shoo-ins

DL:

Jason Taylor- Has 106 sacks in 10 NFL seasons (10.5 per season), along with 35 FF, he is a threat to QB's before he even takes the field, his size (6'6", 255 pounds) is a major threat to offensive lineman.  He is surely a hall of famer.

Michael Strahan- Holds the record for most sacks in a single-season (22.5), even though Brett Favre handed the record to him.  132.5 sacks in 14 seasons (9.5 per season) with 23 career FF, and 4 career INT, Strahan is an amazing DE, and will make the hall of fame with no problem.

LB:

Zach Thomas- Has played 11 season with the dolphins, he may only have 18.5 career sacks (almost 2 per season), and 16 FF, but he has 17 career INT's at the LB position, and 1,586 career tackles.  He is an amazing LB, and will make the hall of fame, easily

Ray lewis- Has played 11 seasons with the ravens, he is the ravens icon, and has 28 career sacks (2.5 per season), with 8 FF, and he has a SB MVP award.  Lewis has 23 career INT's, and 1,398 career tackles, Lewis is obviously a great LB, and will surely make the HOF.

Brian Urlacher- In just 7 NFL seasons Urlacher has 32.5 sacks (4.5 per season), and 10 INT's, with 843 tackles, and 8 FF.  He won the ROY award in '00, and has plenty more chances to win a SB.

DB:

Champ Bailey- In 8 NFL seasons with the skins, and broncos, Bailey has 39 INT's (5 per season), 2 sacks, 546 tackles, and 138 PD, he is considered one of the best shut down corners in NFL history.

John Lynch- One of the hardest hitters in the game today, Lynch is a future hall of famer, in 14 NFL seasons he has 26 INT's (about 2 per season), 12 sacks, 16 FF, and 998 tackles, he is going to the hall.

Adam Vinateri- If he keeps up his clutch kicks, then he is an automatic, but at this point many people would say that he already isa lock, he has 3 SB rings, along with two game winning FG's in two of the three super bowls, the only the keeping him out of the hall of fame, is the fact that he is a kicker.

Matt Stover- He has a super bowl ring, in 17 seasons with the browns and ravens he has a career FG % of 83.8, and has 1,715 career points, he is a lock.

Likely Hall of Famers:

Warren Sapp

Simeon Rice

Dwight Freeney

Jevon Kearse

Julius Peppers

Derrick Brooks

Donnie Edwards

Ed Reed

Brian Dawkins

Ronde Barber

No kicker is ever a lock. Vinatieri has a chance but Stover will not be making it in.

I think Stover will make it in... maybe not first couple ballots, but eventually I think he'll be in there. I can't think of a current kicker (including Vinatieri) who's more deserving of induction.

Chris McCallister, Willie McGinest, Richard Seymour, Ty Law, Troy Polamalu, Bryant Young, and Julian Peterson all should be considered as well (although I know Polamalu will need to keep going at his current pace for a few more years to make it). Additionally, I don't think Simeon Rice or Jevon Kearse will make it.

current kicker or not, doesn't matter. only one kicker in NFL history has made it in. being one of the best in your era isn't going to be a deciding factor for a kicker.
