Half of Porto Alegre Declares War On Boca

Porto Alegre officials and Gremio fans have given fair warning to the Boca faithful that dare to come to support their squad tomorrow.

¨Do not bring women and children,¨ said Gremio official Paulo Pelaipe.

¨(Boca better)get ready, we are going to treat them the same way they treated us when we went down there.¨ This is all in reference to the attacks suffered by the Gremio fans on their way to La Bombonera.

Pealipe also called out referee Jorge Larrionda and referred to him as ¨riff raff¨ and a ¨coward¨ for refusing to disallow two of the Boca goals in their 3-0 loss last week at La Bombonera. ¨If Larrionda did not make those calls, and (Oscar Julián) Ruíz follows suit, watch what happens.¨

He also compares Boca to Caxias in the third division. This was a squad that they eliminated in the regional tournament as they lost 3-0 in the first leg and then came back 4-0 in the second leg.

¨Our fans do not need speakers to cheer louder. Our fans are much better than Boca´s. So they better be ready to not sleep when they get to the Holiday Inn.¨
