Born on March 18, 1919 in Utica, New York, Hal White (Harold George White) played for the Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 12 year career. White broke into the bigs on April 22, 1941 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 2.91 ERA in 216.2 innings pitched in 1942, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Hal White's best season was 1942, when he posted a 2.91 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 93 batters.
