Born on November 23, 1910 in Hinckley, New York, Hal Schumacher (Harold Henry Schumacher) played for the New York Giants for his entire 13 year career. Schumacher broke into the bigs on April 15, 1931 with the New York Giants, and put up a 3.55 ERA in 101.1 innings pitched in 1932, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Hal Schumacher's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1934, when he posted a 3.18 ERA, won 23 games and struck out 112 batters. However, others believe that it was 1933, when he posted a 2.16 ERA, won 19 games and struck out 96 batters.
